Hi, I’m Diane.

You may know me in the SCA as Baroness Nastassiia Ivanova Medvedeva, called Tasha. I live in the Canton of the Towers, in northeastern Massachusetts, which is part of the Barony of Carolingia and the great Kingdom of the East. I’ve been playing for about 20 years, and my major interests in that time have been Viking Age Norse clothing and textile production, for which I was made a member of the Order of the Maunche in 2006. More recently, I’ve become quite interested in bone tools and in mending, having resurrected a moth-eaten wool tunic from the rag bag with a few (well, MANY) patches. I sew exclusively by hand, and am hoping to spend some time spinning thread for sewing — sewing with your own handspun is really satisfying.

Modernly, I’m a customer service coordinator for a medical device manufacturer, an Army Reserve veteran, a second degree black belt in Shaolin Kempo, and I live with two delightful if pushy cats. I may or may not have a semi-manageable addiction to A5 dot-grid notebooks and 0.35mm gel pens and really, office supplies in general. Also I love bears. I will organize your stuff if you let me; I seem to be a cross between a frustrated librarian and a sheepdog.
