My mom looked at me tonight and said, “You ever get a top that has a tag on the side seam? God, they’re so itchy!” Yes, yes, I have, so I offered to fix it for her. I ended up having to cut the stitching on the side seam to get the tags off, and then sewed it back up.
I didn’t want to just back stitch and create a rigid section in this lovely soft t-shirt, so I decided to try sewing it up with a herringbone stitch. It worked great — I made sure to work the stitches right next to each other, and it stretches beautifully. I’m quite proud of it. Yay mending!
but wait — there’s more!
I also spent a little time working on Mom’s quilt. I decided to just darn a small hole, as I started working on it rather late.
I am not good at darning… but if you look at it from a distance, it looks okay. Mom’s happy with it, and that’s the important part.
