day one hundred and three: yep still here

Sorry for the radio silence. Not much has been happening and my sleep schedule is a mess, so posting took a back burner.

So my coat… it’s fully assembled; all that’s left is finish work. I made some trim out of strips of silk today and started sewing it on. I’ve taken it off three time because it feels like I’m bending the angled edge and curving the whole thing, but then when I lay it out it looks fine, so I’ll roll with it.

I made one piece of trim using a bias tape maker and NEVER AGAIN (with silk taffeta). It wrinkled the right side of the fabric and I didn’t see it — couldn’t see it — and I ironed creases into it. I’ll cope, but it’s annoying.

I might still use it for making straps for my smokkrs, but I am not thrilled.

Other than that… my Plan B buckle for my belt came in, and I’m quite pleased with it. Just need to find a strap to fit it, which I’ll do once the coat is finished.

Short and sweet tonight. I’m just plugging away at getting this thing finished. I’m super happy with it.

Night, y’all.
