day one hundred and eight: DING

MY COAT IS DONE. I’m super happy with it, and I already know what alterations I need to make. (They’re minor — the overlapping panels are too wide. Simple fix, but a fix for another day.)

It’s really comfy. The hack I did to figure the back neckline is perfect. All I did was find the vertebra at the top of my spine, mark that spot on the coat with chalk, and then draw a curve to the shoulder seams. I left a little seam allowance when I cut the curve, turned it and bound it, and I don’t know that I’ve ever had a more comfortable back neckline. I think I’m going to try this technique next time I make a serk, except I’ll need to figure out how to do the front as well. I’m not even worried; it will be easy.

Last thing I need to do is make my accessory. I’ll tackle that tomorrow or the next day, though. For now, I’m going to bed. Night, y’all.
